Alstom will hire a total of 120 people to accelerate the manufacture of the NJ TRANSIT commuter rail cars in its facility in Plattsburgh, aiming to construct a total of 374 train cars.

Hiring represents Alstom’s continued commitment to U.S. manufacturing as a whole. As U.S. public transportation agencies continue to upgrade to a cleaner and more fuel-efficient fleet of trains, the continued viability of this plant is important.
A job fair will be held by the company on Thursday, November 6, between 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at 71 Wall Street in Plattsburgh. Candidates with skills in assembly, welding, crane operation, or industrial painting are encouraged to apply.
Applicants will get a chance to interact with the managers during the event, and conditional offers will be given. Full-time jobs come with benefits such as healthcare, 401(k), and paid time off.

It is currently employing a total of 350 people. It has been in operations since 1995. It has built over 4,000 subway cars for New York City as well as more than 1,000 rail cars for San Francisco BART.
