Alstom has completed the delivery of three automated Innovia APM R trains, which will begin operating at Kuala Lumpur International Airport under MAHB’s management on July 1. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

The trains carry up to 270 passengers and include a monitoring system that prevents failures. At the same time, the advanced Urbalis Flo control system, formerly known as Cityflo 650, was implemented.

Between January and June 2025, the trains underwent rigorous testing under the supervision of Malaysian transport regulator APAD. All trials confirmed the system’s safety and reliability.

Alstom delivered trains and the Urbalis Flo system

Alstom is responsible for supplying the trains, implementing the control system, and coordinating the entire project. The works are carried out in partnership with IJM Construction and Pestech Technology.

The consortium handles engineering and construction tasks, while the French company ensures technical integration and equipment deployment.

Alstom enhances comfort and safety at the airport

The project brings the airport’s transport services to a new level, combining automation, sustainability, and passenger convenience. Urbalis Flo enables real-time monitoring of the trains’ technical condition.

These innovations improve capacity and reduce headways between trains, enhancing the efficiency of Malaysia’s largest airport.
