Alstom will host The Greatest Gathering in Derby, a major event featuring historic trains, model railways, and Pete Waterman’s Making Tracks 3, celebrating two centuries of British railway innovation. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.
Model Railway Village by Alstom Highlights Creativity and Heritage

The Greatest Gathering will feature a unique Model Railway Village in partnership with Key Model World. Visitors will enjoy layouts such as Pete Waterman’s 64-foot Making Tracks 3, a detailed OO-gauge replica of Milton Keynes Central station.

Alstom Opens Derby Works for Britain’s Largest Rail Celebration
Alstom will open its historic Litchurch Lane Works to the public for the first time in almost 50 years. Spanning 90 acres, it remains the only UK site designing and manufacturing trains for global markets.
The event will feature over 100 rolling stock exhibits, blending heritage and modern technology. It forms part of the Railway 200 festivities, marking 200 years since the opening of the Stockton and Darlington Railway in 1825.
Trade stands from leading brands like Hornby, Bachmann, and Accurascale will offer new and pre-owned products. For model enthusiasts, this is an opportunity to discover rare finds and explore cutting-edge innovations in railway modeling.
