Ajmer–Chanderiya doubling project work has gone to SEPC Ltd via a ₹269.69 crore subcontract for railway infrastructure works in the Ajmer Division of North Western Railway (NWR), as reported by ETInfra. The subcontract was issued by Vishnu Prakash R Punglia Ltd under the VPRPL–SBEL joint venture (JV), as reflected in an NSE disclosure and attached press release.

Contract and delivery structure

Under the stated arrangement, SEPC will carry out the assignment under the JV’s control and supervision. The work is tied to the letter of award issued by North Western Railway as part of its capacity expansion programme.

Scope of work on the Mandpiya to Chanderiya section

On the ground, the package spans formation and civil works on the Mandpiya to Chanderiya section. It includes earthwork and the construction of major and minor bridges, as well as road under bridges, limited-height subways and foot over bridges. Retaining structures are part of the scope too, alongside station buildings, platforms, staff quarters and other related facilities.

Permanent way works and capacity augmentation

Alongside the civil, track and allied works, SEPC is set to deliver permanent way works, including the supply and transportation of ballast and the laying and linking of broad-gauge track, plus electrical and other miscellaneous works. The Ajmer–Chanderiya doubling project sits within Indian Railways’ capacity augmentation programme aimed at improving connectivity and operations on key routes.
