Atlanta Airport Receives First Alstom Train Car

Atlanta Airport has received the first Alstom Innovia APM 300R automated train car as part of an $87 million contract signed last year. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

In 2023, the busiest U.S. airport ordered 29 rubber-tired train cars. Alstom is manufacturing them at its Pennsylvania facility, following the agreed delivery schedule.

Atlanta Airport Fleet Delivery on Schedule
Alstom announced that the remaining 28 cars will be delivered by the end of 2025. Full integration of the fleet into Atlanta Airport’s infrastructure is scheduled for completion in 2026.
The company expects that introducing the Innovia APM 300R will improve internal passenger flow and reduce operational costs.
Atlanta Airport Focuses on Automation
The automated control system and digital architecture of the train cars will streamline maintenance processes. The new trains will ensure uninterrupted and safe connections between terminals.
