New Zealand’s Minister of Transport, Simeon Brown, expressed confidence that consolidating employees from various operators in one center will enable more efficient management of railway transport and enhance its reliability.

The design of the control center building prioritizes resilience even during strong earthquakes and is equipped with two backup power systems.

Furthermore, the computing systems of the center in Auckland and Wellington are interchangeable, allowing for maintaining control over train movements in case one of the centers fails due to technical glitches or natural disasters.

In the context of Auckland’s development as New Zealand’s largest city with a population of 1.5 million, such a center becomes part of large-scale projects aimed at modernizing and developing railway infrastructure.
