The 250 Buckeye Train will offer a nostalgic rail experience in Ohio as part of the America 250 celebration, combining history, heritage, and entertainment in April 2026. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

Historic Ride on the 250 Buckeye Train through Ohio
Ohio will play a central role in America’s 250th anniversary festivities with the launch of the 250 Buckeye Train, a vintage rail journey recreating the spirit of the nation’s bicentennial. On April 25, 2026, the train will depart from Columbus, traveling along the historic Panhandle Pennsylvania Railroad to Dennison. The four-hour ride will be followed by a three-hour stop for guests to enjoy the Transportation Celebration at the Dennison Railroad Depot Museum.

The celebration continues on April 26, when a second trip will depart from Newark, stopping in Coshocton before heading to Dennison. Both days are designed to deliver a fully immersive historical experience that blends scenic rail travel with patriotic storytelling and cultural heritage.
Transportation Celebration Welcomes 250 Buckeye Train Guests
Dennison’s historic depot, once called “Dreamsville USA” during World War II, will host a vibrant festival free to the public. The event will feature 1940s swing music, USO-style performances, authentic military vehicles, costumed reenactors, and a lineup of 250 vintage cars in the 250 Car Show. Visitors will also see flyovers from historic aircraft and a massive Age of Steam locomotive on display.
“The story of American transportation wouldn’t be complete without Ohio,” said Todd Kleismit, executive director of America 250-Ohio. “The 250 Buckeye Train captures that legacy as it connects communities and celebrates how we’ve moved as a nation.”
Ticketing and Experience Options
Tickets for the 250 Buckeye Train are now available via the Dennison Railroad Depot Museum. Coach seats start at $150 for April 25 and $135 for April 26. Premium seating in First Class and Deluxe sections is also available. Inspired by the Bicentennial Freedom Train of 1976, this experience promises to be a moving tribute to the past and a shared journey into America’s future.
So, all aboard—Ohio is ready to roll out a celebration that honors its role in the nation’s history while uniting Americans on track to 250 years.
