“Ukrzaliznytsia” (Ukrainian Railways) announced that 14 wagons of the Kyiv-Warsaw test train have received QR codes and markings of the Polish Railways, according to the railway journal Railway Supply, citing Ukrzaliznytsia.
This step is intended to prepare for the launch of a full-fledged train on this important route.
The company is awaiting final agreements with their Polish counterparts and is preparing the wagons for the new route.
The test train was launched on May 31st to obtain approval from the Polish side regarding the expansion of direct connections between Kyiv and Warsaw.
If approval is granted, this will significantly increase the number of available seats for direct connections between the Ukrainian and Polish capitals, even by 2-3 times.
