Route details and injuries after the Jackson train crash

Amtrak said the Chicago to New Orleans train was en route at the time. In addition, there were 241 passengers and crew members on board. Meanwhile, Jackson police said the train struck the rear of the 18-wheeler. Also, three railroad crew members suffered minor injuries. Still, no passengers were hurt. Separately, police said the driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.

Amtrak train collision remains under investigation

According to the Federal Railroad Administration, railroad crossing incidents are the second leading cause of rail-related deaths in America. At the same time, Amtrak said such crashes affect those who are injured or killed. They also affect their families. In addition, Amtrak said train crews and passengers are affected. Also, it said people should follow the law. They should use extreme caution near railroad tracks and crossings.
