STM presented design of living quarters of a fire extinguishing module for fire trains

The new development of the STM Research Center and VNIKTI was created within the framework of the Fire Safety program.
The module will be the first dedicated rolling stock to form firefighting trains and will be used in conjunction with two storage tanks, informs Railway Supply magazine citing tzdjournal.
The interior design is developed using innovative composite materials.
The fire extinguishing module will house a post of a gas and smoke protection service, a guard room, an engine room, a compartment for the crew, two compartments with boiler equipment, a room for eating and a sanitary and hygienic compartment.
A prototype of the module is planned to be manufactured and certified in 2022, then it should be put into mass production.
