The Union Pacific derailment near Beaumont involved about 20 cars on Monday, April 20. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said no injuries were reported. This is reported by the railway transport news portal Railway Supply.

It also said no hazardous materials were involved. One car carrying beef tallow was reported to have been breached and was leaking.

The derailment occurred in a remote area roughly 14 miles west of Beaumont. It was about a mile northeast of the intersection. The roads are Old Sour Lake Road and North China Road, as 12NewsNow reported. The site is about 1.8 miles from the nearest grade crossing.
The location is on Union Pacific’s Beaumont Subdivision. It is approximately 66 rail miles east of Houston, as Trains reported.
