ZTRZ performed overhaul repairs of the M62 diesel locomotive

LLC “Zaporizhya Diesel Locomotive Repair Plant” performed overhaul and refurbishment of the modernized diesel locomotive M62.

The order for the overhaul and refurbishment of the M62 diesel locomotive was completed for Metinvest.

The M62 locomotive now has improved working conditions for the driver. The comfort and safety of the driver is ensured by the additional equipment of the locomotive: an inverter with a 220V on-board network, an air conditioner, a microwave oven, a refrigerator, etc.

Earlier, Zaporizhya Diesel Locomotive Repair Plant (ZTRZ) LLC presented remotorized locomotive TGM6. After locomotive overhaul the regular engine 3A-6D49 was replaced by Сummins QST30 L2.

Remotorization with the installing of the new powerful Cummins engine, renewed hydraulic drive, full replacement of wheelsets and breaking system repair costs about 11 million UAH (excluding the cost of the engine itself).

As General director of ZTRZ Vitaly Perekrest said, remotorization project has confirmed its efficiency: fuel consumption decreased by 12%, motor oil consumption up to 60%.

LLC “Zaporizhya Diesel Locomotive Repair Plant (ZTRZ)” is a specialized enterprise that performs overhauls and modernizes industrial diesel locomotives of the TGK2, TGM23, TGM4, TGM6, TEM2, TEM7, M62, VL series and other modifications.
