Turkey plans to start exporting electric trains to the EU from 2023

The national carrier TCDD intends to put into operation the first 3 trains this year. They were developed and produced by the state-owned Türasaş.

It is declared that the rolling stock complies with European TSI requirements. However, there is no information in open sources about foreign orders for it yet, the railway magazine Railway Supply informs.

Also, Türasaş is currently in the process of developing the first national mainline electric locomotive of the E5000 series, which must also comply with European TSI requirements.

Today, Turkey prioritizes the development of transport with a focus on railways. In April, Adil Karaismailoglu presented a 30-year plan for the development of transport in the country, which involves almost $200 billion in investment.
