Infrastructure Minister Alexander Kubrakov announced the completion of the construction of the second railway line on the Chernomorsk – Beregovaya section.

The minister announced this during a working visit to Odessa. According to him, traffic on the newly built track (6.5 km) will be opened on November 4. Technical transport is already moving on it. Recall that the electrification of the second railway track began in July 2021.

This section carries out transportation for 3 of the 5 largest stevedoring companies in the country – SE MTP Yuzhny, LLC Transinvestservice and JSC Odessa Port Plant, reports the railway magazine Railway Supply.

The MIU considered that the volume of freight traffic at the SE MTP Yuzhny and TIS LLC by 2023 will amount to at least 135 million tons.

Now the estimated throughput of the Chernomorsk – Beregovaya section is 55 train pairs per day, and after the renovation it will increase to 60. The last time the throughput was increased here 6 years ago.

In the future, MIU plans to complete the construction of the second track at the post section of 30 km – Beregovaya station / Khimicheskaya station.

Then the throughput capacity of the Chernomorsk – Beregovaya – Khimicheskaya section will be 150 pairs of trains per day.
