Taras Melnychuk, permanent representative of the Cabinet of Ministers in the Verkhovna Rada, said that the Cabinet of Ministers approved a bill on financial support for the project for the supply of rails to JSC Ukrzaliznytsia as part of a framework agreement between Ukraine and France. He clarified that the document provides for the ratification of a framework agreement between the government of Ukraine and the government of the French Republic regarding financial support for the project of supplying rails to Ukrzaliznytsia. The ratification of the agreement will allow attracting funds on favorable terms from the French government, necessary for the supply of rails for the needs of UZ, which arose due to the military aggression of the Russian Federation. The loan amount does not exceed 37 million 600 thousand euros.

Kazakhstan will build its own terminal in Xi’an

In 2023, UZ is to receive almost 20 thousand tons of rails from the European manufacturer Saarstahl Rail SAS. According to preliminary calculations, the French rails will cost UZ twice as much as the Ukrainian ones. In addition, the company recently ordered rails from AS Skinest Rail, an Estonian company.
