Amtrak leadership transition and interim structure

Amtrak’s board announced the change as part of that transition. Herrmann has spent 27 years at the company and currently oversees legal, human resources and labour functions, along with several business activities.

During Harris’ tenure, Railway Supply reported that Amtrak reached its highest ridership and revenue levels. His time in charge also included the launch of the NextGen Acela programme, the introduction of Mardi Gras service and progress on major infrastructure work, including the Portal North Bridge replacement.

Coscia said the interim leadership arrangement is intended to preserve operational continuity while Amtrak continues focusing on passenger services, workforce management and the delivery of ongoing investment programmes.
